Chocolate and Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are a convenient way to add nutritious ingredients into your diet, suitable for both breakfast and snacks. Their consistency is typically thick and often made from frozen produce, milk (that can also be plant based), oats, nuts, and seeds. The best thing about smoothie bowls is that you can also be as creative as you want with them.

In this specific recipe, I opted for a combination of chocolate and berries because I think you can always enjoy the good balance of the sweetness and cocoa richness between the two ingredients.
Putting this bowl together was relatively simple, making it ideal for busy mornings or moments before starting your day.

Ingredients

Smoothie

  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/4 cup raspberries 
  • 1 cup plant based milk (I used almond milk)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 1/4 cups rolled oats

Toppings

  • Handful of raspberries
  • Handful of granola 
  • Cacao nibs 

Instructions

  • Add all smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend until smoothie is of a thick consistency 
  • Pour into a bowl and add toppings to enjoy 

Notes

If you prefer a very thick consistency, I would recommend using frozen raspberries and frozen bananas.
